Tap any tile in the table. The panel below fills with that element's key numbers and a live 3D atom. Tap Details in that panel for the full sheet, which has the Properties, Compounds, Isotopes, History, and Safety tabs.
It recolours the entire table by whichever property you pick — electronegativity, atomic radius, melting point, density, atomic weight, or discovery year. The scale underneath shows what the colours mean. Elements with no recorded value for that property stay grey rather than being guessed at.
Pinch outward on the table to zoom in up to 3.5×, then drag to pan. As tiles grow they show the atomic number, the element name, and the current data value. Turning the phone to landscape also gives the table more room.
Use the search field at the top. It matches on element name, chemical symbol, atomic number, or category — so "17", "Cl", "chlorine", and "halogen" all find chlorine. Anything that doesn't match is dimmed rather than hidden, so you keep your sense of where things sit in the table.
Yes — drag to orbit it and pinch to zoom. In the full detail sheet you can also pause the animation and change the orbit speed from 0.1× to 4×.
The shell occupancy is real: it's calculated from the element's actual electron configuration, so tantalum genuinely shows 2, 8, 18, 32, 11, 2 electrons across its shells, anomalous configurations included. The circular paths are a Bohr-style schematic, not quantum orbitals — real electrons occupy probability clouds, not rings. The app notes this on screen.
For elements above 90 nucleons the nucleus is drawn as a representative sample that keeps the proton-to-neutron ratio, so it stays readable instead of becoming a solid ball. The true proton and neutron counts are printed in the corner of the viewer.
Open the Sandbox tab, tap +, and add two or more elements to the bench — try Hydrogen and Oxygen, or Sodium and Chlorine. Every catalogued reaction those elements can run appears with a balanced equation, its type, and its energy change. You can also add an element straight from its detail sheet.
The library covers about 30 classic reactions, so many combinations genuinely have nothing to show. When that happens the app suggests the single element that would unlock the most new reactions from what's already on your bench.
Pin up to four elements — use the pin button in an element's detail sheet or in the panel under the table — then open the Compare tab to see them side by side across fourteen properties, with a short read on what actually separates them.
The core properties — atomic weight, category, electron configuration, electronegativity, melting and boiling points, density, atomic radius, oxidation states, discovery — cover all 118 elements. Compounds, isotopes, and safety notes are a curated selection; where an element has no entry, the app tells you plainly instead of inventing one.
